Yokohama rubber develops a new type of hose for automotive air conditioning use of a new generation of refrigerant

Yokohama rubber has developed an automotive air conditioning hose "ac6b 11" that can meet the use requirements of a new generation of refrigerant HFO-1234yf. At present, it has begun to supply air conditioners to vehicle dispatching manufacturers. Air conditioners using this hose are mainly equipped on models specially designed for 98.07 European market

automotive air conditioning hose generally adopts the structure of outer rubber, reinforced yarn and inner rubber from the outside to the inside, and the inner side of the inner rubber is usually coated with polyamide resin to prevent refrigerant leakage. HFO-1234yf has the property of gradually intensifying decomposition and producing acidic substances under long-term use. Therefore, the original hose has the problem that the resin is easy to corrode. For this reason, the new product uses acid neutralizer in the polyamide resin coated on the inner side of the inner rubber. By adopting this design to absorb acid, the resin corrosion in terms of strength and durability of tables and refrigerant leakage are successfully prevented

HFC-134a is widely used in automotive air conditioning refrigerants, and its destructive effect on the ozone layer is smaller than that of Freon. However, in terms of global warming coefficient (GWP), carbon dioxide is 272, while HFC-134a is as high as 1300. Because of this, the energy consumption cost in the plastic granulation industry has become the second largest cost in the plastic granulation cost, which is second only to raw materials. At present, with Europe as the center, it is transforming to HFO-1234yf with GWP of 4. Moreover, it is estimated that the adoption of HFO-1234yf by the U.S. automotive industry will also increase in the future. Therefore, Yokohama rubber will target European and American automotive air conditioning manufacturers and automobile manufacturers to strengthen the sales of new products
